FAQ

Sizing

How do I read the dimensions?
Every size is listed as width x gusset x height, in inches. The gusset is the depth of the bag when it is open. A 10 x 5 x 13 bag is 10 inches across the front, 5 inches deep, and 13 inches tall, not counting the handles.

Your size names do not match my old supplier's.
They rarely do. Trade names are supplier vocabularies, not an industry standard. Only Cub and Vogue are used consistently across the major suppliers. Some common equivalents:

Dimensions Boaz name Also sold as
4.7 x 3 x 7.5 Mini Gem No direct equivalent
5 x 3 x 8 Gem Rose (runs slightly larger)
8 x 4 x 10 Cub Cub
10 x 5 x 13 Debbie Carrier
16 x 6 x 13 Vogue Vogue
18 x 6.8 x 13 Super Vogue No direct equivalent
18 x 7 x 18 Jumbo Jumbo

Two of those need a caveat. A Rose at most suppliers is 5.5 x 3.25 x 8.375 — a little wider, deeper and taller than our Gem at 5 x 3 x 8, so treat it as the nearest equivalent rather than a match. And Queen is not another word for Jumbo: it usually means a narrower, taller bag around 16 x 6 x 19.

Match on dimensions, not on names. There is a fuller breakdown of the trade vocabulary, with competitor dimensions side by side, in Kraft Bag Size Names Decoded. If you tell us the size you used to buy and who you bought it from, we can point you to the equivalent.

Which size should I use?
As a rough guide: 4.7 x 3 x 7.5 and 5 x 3 x 8 for jewelry, cosmetics and small gifts. 8 x 4 x 10 for a boutique sale or a single garment. 10 x 5 x 13 for general retail. 16 x 6 x 13 and larger for bulky items, multiple purchases and hampers. 18 x 7 x 18 for the largest loads. For food service, see the takeout sizes at 13 x 7 x 13, 13 x 7 x 17 and 14 x 9 x 16. There is a size-by-use guide in What Size Kraft Bag Do I Need?

The product

What are the bags made of?
FSC-certified kraft paper, 100% recyclable. Reinforced twisted paper handles. A weighted block bottom so the bag stands upright when empty.

Are the bags printed?
No. Every bag on this site is supplied unprinted, in natural brown or white.

We do offer custom printing, but not through this site. If you are interested in custom printed bags, email chris@boaztradinggroup.com and we will quote it.

What is the difference between natural brown and white?
Color only. Same paper construction, same handles, same block bottom, same dimensions.

Can these be used for food?
Our takeout bags are built for exactly that job. Restaurants, delis and caterers use them to carry packaged food out the door: the food travels in its own container or wrapper, and the bag carries the containers. The wide flat base is designed to keep those containers level in transit.

The bags are not intended for unwrapped food placed directly against the paper.

Will the wine bag fit a standard bottle?
Yes. The wine bag is 5.5 x 3.25 x 13, sized for a standard 750ml bottle.

Ordering

How many bags are in a case?
Case packs are 100, 200, 250, 550 or 750 count depending on size. 250 is the standard across most of the range. The count is listed on every product page.

Can I buy a sample or a small quantity first?
We do not offer samples at this time. If you are unsure which size you need, email us with what you are packing and we will tell you which size fits, or point you to the closest equivalent of a bag you already buy.

Do you offer volume discounts?
There are no automatic discount tiers on this site — the case price you see is the price. For larger or repeating orders, full pallets, or mixed orders across sizes, use the wholesale inquiry form and we will quote you directly.

Shipping and returns

Where do orders ship from and how long do they take?
Orders ship from our warehouse in Florida. Most orders ship within 24 to 48 hours, Monday through Friday. We do not pick or ship at weekends or on public holidays, so a weekend order will normally ship by Tuesday or Wednesday. Full detail is on the Shipping & Returns page.

What does shipping cost?
Orders of $175 or more ship for a flat $25, anywhere in the 48 contiguous states, however many cases you order. Below $175, shipping is charged by weight and typically runs $14 to $33 on a single case. Orders over $1,200 revert to weight-based rates — at that size, ask us for a pallet freight quote instead. The full rate table is on the Shipping & Returns page.

Why does a single case cost more to ship than a large order?
Because a case is genuinely heavy — a 250-count case of 16 x 6 x 13 bags weighs about 35 pounds, and a 250-count case of 13 x 7 x 17 takeout bags is closer to 43 — and each case ships as its own carton. Below $175 you pay what the weight actually costs. Above $175 the $25 flat rate takes over and we absorb the rest, which is why ordering two or three cases together is almost always better value than ordering them one at a time. Full case weights are listed in How Much Does a Case of Paper Bags Weigh?

Where do you ship to?
We ship to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii or US territories, and we do not offer international shipping.

Can I return an order?
Unopened cases can be returned within 30 days. Return shipping is paid by the buyer. See Shipping & Returns for the full terms.

Something arrived damaged or short. What do I do?
Email chris@boaztradinggroup.com within 5 business days of receipt with your order number and photographs of the outer carton and the affected goods. We will replace or refund the affected items, and you will not be asked to return damaged goods at your own cost.
